Several series in, I’ve spent years building worlds and then trying to explain them to other people. So I know what it’s like to have a place perfectly clear in your head and no good way to show it. I also know which questions get it out of there and onto paper.

So when I ask why the river runs where it does, or which of your forty place names matter, that isn’t an intake form. It’s what I ask myself about my own books.

How the maps are made

Every map is composed by hand in Inkarnate, coastline by coastline, range by range. No generative AI, ever. No presets, no reused templates.

The tool is the vocabulary. The craft is everything else. Where the mountains go and why the pass matters. How a river behaves. Which twelve of your forty place names earn a label. Whether the whole thing still reads when it’s printed small. That part I learned writing my own books.

I say that plainly because you should know what you’re buying. And the question of who owns the map has a short answer: you do. It’s spelled out here, but that’s genuinely the whole of it.

Why one week

Most cartographers worth hiring are booked months out, or closed to new work. I take one commission at a time and finish it in seven days. That’s the normal timeline, not a rush option.

That is also why the booking slots on this site are real. When they’re gone, the page says so.
